Zade's Notes - Zaina the chill mix - CD Album
It is about 9 pm. The temperature is reading 87 degrees. A gentle breeze is
coming from the West carrying the scent of white Jasmine that my mother and
father planted in the patio of our home located in the Western hills above
Amman, the capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. I am writing these
notes while sitting on the swing beneath an olive tree, which was planted
here three centuries ago, my lungs filling with the fresh air of the hills.
I love these starry warm nights. This is the highest hill in town where from
the upper terrace you can watch a view of never-ending lands and skies. Nothing
interrupts the picture. This is where I grew up; where I wrote my first piano
piece; where my father gave me my first drawing lesson, and where my mother
and I spent countless times laughing to the point of crying over some terrible
cliché joke that we repeated continually. All of these memories infused my
musical writing and I've tried to have them breathe life into the musical
selections on this recording. The most rewarding thing about putting the music
together is that it really reflects who I am today in a very honest way. It
represents my hopes, dreams and aspirations.
With much gratitude I welcome you to my music and hope you will receive it
as it was written: From the heart.
