I’ve been writing for WiiBlog.net for a few weeks now, so I figured it’s time to do a top 10 list. After playing some Virtual Console games for a few hours last night, I figured I’d share my Top 10 Virtual Console titles. So for all you young uns’ who missed out on the days of SNES, and the NES, pay attention.
The WiiBlog.net Official Virtual Console Top 10 List
10. Donkey Kong Country

Donkey Kong Country was a pretty big step technically speaking. The way the game was designed, it gave off a 3-D esque look. The game just goes to show how much the concept of “shading” can be used in the look of a game. The gameplay while at times can be frustrating, is also very rewarding. Shooting through the stage in the explosive barrels is a blast, especially if you can connect them properly. And Rambi is one of the coolest side characters in a video game, ever.

What’s with Nintendo and launch events lately? First, we had the Mario Kart: Wii event, which had special guest, Jason Priestly in attendance. Now, Wii Fit will be getting its own launch party which is slated to take place in Central Park.

Jaws, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, are all movie series that Spielberg has his reputation attached to. So, maybe AI, and War Of The Worlds, weren’t the greatest movies, but hey nobody’s perfect. With Boom Blox, Spielberg stakes his reputation on a physics based puzzle game developed and published by EA. As the reviews keep pouring in, it looks like he did alright by slapping his name on this title.

I can’t believe that my dream has finally come into realization for the Nintendo Wii. When I go to the…ahem… dance clubs, and see all the tight and fit girls dancing on the poles, I think to myself; how do they do it? I’ve always wanted to practice, and one day become the top pole dancer in the land, but can find no where to practice. Without completely humiliating myself in the process that is.

My hands are still shaking, so if you catch a couple of grammar mistakes, forgive me. My uncontrollable shaking hands can be attributed to the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video I just got done watching. Unlike alot of video game junkies, I’ve never been a huge stickler for gameplay videos. I’d rather just play the game with a clean slate, but I must admit sometimes my curiosity gets the best of me. After taking a gander at this G4 exclusive video, curiosity hasn’t killed this cat, but has left him very excited.

The Wii Shop channel is a place where a man/woman can go, and indulge in the smaller games. Whether it be by way of the Virtual Console, or when the WiiWare Channel launches. The WiiWare titles who for the most part, will be developed by smaller developers and publishers. I found an interesting bit of news today by the way of IGN, about the pricing structure of the WiiWare titles.

Well, I might be making my Wii Fit purchase sooner, rather than later. In an earlier post about the Wii Fit, I said that would be waiting for other games to release before I would buy the peripheral based game. Well Ubisoft has released a trailer, making it look as though Rayman Raving Rabbids 3 will be utilizing the Wii Fit pad. The trailer is done in usual Raving Rabbid fashion, with a quirky montage of a Rabbid checking out the pad.

Sometimes your inner-voice can take a hold of you, which can lead to good or disastrous outcomes. On Saturday night, leading into early Sunday morning, you could say it was a good outcome. I was making my way back home from a friend’s house, when I noticed it was midnight, and I happened to be passing Wal-Mart. Remembering that MK:Wii came out I decided to see if the evil Wall-Mart (for you South Park fans) had it out yet. There was an interesting conversation between me and another guy picking up a Wii, and I walked out with my copy.
